History

1980
UNIMET was founded in 1980 by Gojko Kunovac. Unimet then employed three workers, had six universal machines and a shop of 100 m2. The production programme was simple and based on providing services for the domestic market. When business connections with Brovex from Sweden were established, a need for widening the production capacities became greater. Investments were made from the company’s own revenues together with financial support from Brovex which increasingly fueled the further expansion.

1984
In 1984, the company imported its first highly productive CNC machines from Sweden and expanded the working area. The company saw the need to employ more people and undertake production in two shifts. Good business results lead to new deals and the workshop gradually grew into a more complex organization.

1996-1998
In 1996, Unimet began building a new facility which became operational two years later. The new facility expanded administrative space, incorporated a tool department, and a control and maintenance room. Through this, Unimet gained some 2000 m2 for material storage.

1999
In 1999, another shop was built, which came to house universal machines, a welding department, saws and new CNC machines that were bought in the meantime.

2005
In 2005, a third plant of 2000 m2 was built which currently houses a production line of 10 CNC machines and an assembly line for flow-control positioners. This facility came to hold the main stock of finished products.

2007
In 2007 Unimet acquired a sheet metalwork company in Jarmenovci, near the city of Topola. The workskop houses 42 machines and employs some 30 workers.

2008
A new production hall in Kac was built. The new plant is 1200 m2 and is currently used as a storage facility.
